Charis (pronounced Ka’ r is) Worship Center Ministries. Charis is the Greek word for grace, which is given from God the Father and God the Son. It is manifested in the heart of every believer through God the Holy Spirit, who bestows favorable regard (Luke 2:40). The ministry is to educate, enlighten, and empower all believers through the word of God for every area of their lives. Classes include individual and couple sessions, discipleship classes and training of lay leaders.

Our Ministry

Charis Worship Center ministry is a multiethnic, multicultural, interdenominational Christian faith organization planned according to the precepts, principles, and instructions as written in the Holy Scripture, which adhere to God’s mercy, forgiveness, grace and salvation. This ministry will express to the wider community of any age, gender, social or economic background through prayer, teaching, counseling, preaching and worshipping the essence of faith in God. (Romans 12:1.2; James 1:22; Ephesians 4:20-24; 1 John 2:6)

Charis Worship Center ministry holds fast to the tenet that Charis, which announces grace, is from God the Father, God the Son as manifested in the heart of believers through God the Holy Spirit who bestows favorable regard upon the believer (Luke 2:40), and is designed by the triune God to equip and empower the recipient for ministry (2 Thessalonians l: 12; Luke 2:40; Acts 14:26)

Charis Worship Center ministry is committed to the development of disciples, to meet them where they are, to contribute to their holistic spiritual maturity, and to lead them in biblically sound principles and practices. Charis Worship Center ministry will provide a consistent environment of harmony, care, reconciliation and worship, in the midst of a responsible and responsive leadership.

Charis Worship Center ministry is a healing station, safe haven, and sanctuary, which offers reliable, biblically based ministry and fellowship. Charis seeks to proffer rest, rescue where sought, renewal, restoration, repentance, restitution, respect, revival and reward.

Charis Worship Center ministry aggressively seeks to minister to persons who are lost, and disconnected from the God of grace and salvation; and to execute the Great Commission, including planting other churches, and ministering to the needs of the larger community in which it resides.

A Dream to a Vision

It is always miraculous to see a dream take shape and form. Dreams in themselves are made of your hopes and desires. There may be no limit to their fabulous unfolding, rich in all the magic of the fantastic. A dream held at the focal point of one’s mind and heart takes over the total process of one’s thinking and planning, until at last it becomes the living embodiment of what you dream. This is the first miracle: you become your dream; then it is the line between what you do and are and dream melts away. A new accent appears in how you think; the signature of your dream must guarantee the integrity of every act. In some way you seem possessed; and perhaps this is true.

The second miracle appears when the outline of the dream begins to take tangible shape; when it becomes concrete and takes its place among the particular facts of life. Something more than you becomes the embodiment of the dream.

Others begin to see the manifestation of the dream and feel the pull of its challenge. In turn, through sheer contagion, they relate themselves to the dream and its demands. If the embodiment takes the form of an institution it is a living, pulsing core which guarantees not only flexibility but also assures continuous unfolding in an increasing dimension of creativity. Hence, those who have become embodiments of this dream, project an institution which becomes the personification of the dream which they themselves have already accepted. It is the very nature of such a dream that it continues to grow, to develop, to find ever increasing creative dimension. As a result, the dream is always active, moving, and flowing; it can never be contained in a life, however perfect. So it is with an institution which is the manifestation of the dream. It is an evolving organism always maintaining its dynamic and core character while its greatest significance is the ability of the dream to call all who share its contagion.

It is out of this concept that Charis Worship Center Ministries is founded. The miracle of a dream taking shape and form in the soul of Pastor La Verne A. Wilson, and becoming the very essence of her life work and is cutting edge and a model of life application and education. The outline of the dream is taking shape in the form of a new church plant that embodies the four points of entry to a solid and safe relationship with God as giver, Jesus as Savior and the Holy Spirit as empowered. Through fellowship, education, drama and the arts and the spiritual opportunities offered through small study groups on various self-help disciplines, Charis assures the relational connection to God, necessary for growth and development, the dream has become a reality.

Charis is host to regular study, prayer, and outreach training to equip the young believer as well as the seasoned believer. All studies are open to the serious, yet to be saved seeker from eight to eighty.
