Missions: Our Newest Ministry

Suppport the Missions Ministry
Please pray for our missionaries as they plan to revisit Africa in December 2009 and June 2010
Charis Worship Center Ministries has begun a new Missions Ministry. On April 23rd , for the fourth year, Mildred Wilson was a member of the Dorcas Medical Mission team to Kumasi, Ghana as a CWCM Missionary.
Working in registration, Mildred will interact with over 1500 patients a day. Over a period of four days, the combined sites, including dental and surgery teams, will treat over 10,000 patients with different ailments. Although we came from different worlds, spoke different languages, we were united by God’s love.
Mildred stated “During these missions, we experienced first hand what it means to put God’s love to work. My favorite part of every day was the children’s ministry we held each afternoon (see my picture above). The children of Ghana have been a essential part of my repeated returns, as I hope to make a small difference in their physical and spiritual health”.
For almost eight years, Dorcas Medical Missions, lead by Minister Lorna Mullins, RN, has tirelessly followed the benevolent example set by the biblical heroine Dorcas, whose story can be found in Acts 9. Like Dorcas, the team is dedicated to helping those in desperate need. To date, they have completed 16 missions in 9 countries serving over 100,000 people in the Caribbean, Africa, North and South America. It is our hope that in subsequent
years the mission will expand other geographical regions.
We are seeking: 1) your prayers for a successful mission team as we share Christ and provide health care to those in need. Prayer is the fuel that will sustain us as we follow God’s guidance; and 2), the trip itself will cost $2000, and we are looking for people to partner with us financially. The mission operates solely from donations from people like you. If you are able to help, please send a check made out to: CWCM. Please write Mildred Wilson on the check’s comment line. You may mail the check to CWCM at PO Box 269, Spencerville, MD, 20868 or you are encouraged to go to E-Giving on our website to use your credit card.
All donations are tax deductible and should be received by April 10, 2009, no donation is too small. All funds received that are beyond the $2000 will be directed to the purchase of additional medical supplies. Whether or not you can send a donation, I earnestly solicit your prayers for the success of this mission. Together, we can change the world, one loving action at a time.
