MISSIONS PROJECT TO OUR TROOPS IN THE WAR ZONES

 

 † Rememberto bring or mail old cell phones and chargers to church and drop them in the white basket marked cell phones for Soldiers.   They will be donated and used to purchase Calling Cards for our troops to call loved ones from the war zones.  Thank you for supporting our troops who give so much daily.

Our Weekly Bible Study schedule resumes Wednesday, January 13, 2010.   Join us each Wednesday night at 7 PM in the new year at the Peach Orchard Christian Center in the conference room.   Peach Orchard Christian Center is located at 15712 Peach Orchard Road, Silver Spring, MD, 20905.  Directions: New Hampshire Avenue North or South to Rt. 198 and turn onto Peach Orchard Road (next to the Spencerville Post Office).  Extra books are available for sale at the site.  Our Bible study classes will definitely be a Blessing to you.   Midweek Worship Services are held on the first Wednesday of the month focused on inspiring topics for the Acts 2:42 church.. 

Come out and join us as Pastor Wilson and the Ministerial staff  leads us in this thought provoking discussion at Our Weekly Bible Study.  The text that we are using is One Month To Live; Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life by authors Kerry and Chris Shook .  The book is available next week for $12.99 pls tax (no S&H) through our preferred supplier, Norwood Books ( norwoodllc@verizon.net,) as well as other venues such as Amazon.com.  Make It Last For Life is the theme that is examined through 4 disciplines; Live Passionately, Love Completely, Learn Humbly and Leave Boldly.

Suppport the Missions Ministry

Please pray for our missionaries as they plan to revisit Africa in December 2009 and June 2010

Charis Worship Center Ministries has begun a new Missions Ministry. On April 23rd , for the fourth year, Mildred Wilson was a member of the Dorcas Medical Mission team to Kumasi, Ghana as a CWCM Missionary.  

Working in registration, Mildred will interact with over 1500 patients a day. Over a period of four days, the combined sites, including dental and surgery teams, will treat over 10,000 patients with different ailments. Although we came from different worlds, spoke different languages, we were united by God’s love.

Mildred stated “During these missions, we experienced first hand what it means to put God’s love to work. My favorite part of every day was the children’s ministry we held each afternoon (see my picture above). The children of Ghana have been a essential part of my repeated returns, as I hope to make a small difference in their physical and spiritual health”.

Join Us As We Visit the Residents of Hillhaven

Join us on the third Sunday of each month as we visit the shut-in residents of Hillhaven Assisted Living Facility at 3210 Powder Mill Road, Adelphi, MD (301) 937-3939. Please contact your Servant Leader if you would like to participate in this fulfilling and heart-warming ministry.

Tuesday Morning Prayer

Tuesday morning prayer will occur on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. For the February 9th prayer meeting location, please contact the church for details and directions.

Adult Sunday School: “The Mind of Christ”

Learn to hear when God is speaking to you! Find out where God is working and join Him. Experience God doing through you only what God can do. In a Sunday morning setting where the focus is on spiritual maturity, this study is being offered at 9 a.m. at the church worship site, 4050 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville Maryland.
